SSPS® & DSPS® systems

The Single Shell Positioning System (SSPS®) was developed to address the challenges of mask overstretching that often occurred with traditional thermoplastic mask systems. By utilizing an ultra-lightweight yet rigid cradle, the facial thermoplastic mask only needs to stretch to the cradle rim, forming a compact and secure mask mold. This innovative approach led to the development of the now widely recognized Double Shell Positioning System (DSPS®).

The DSPS® system builds on the SSPS concept by incorporating a carbon fiber cradle with low attenuation properties and two specialized thermoplastic masks that fully encapsulate the patient's head. The patented occipital mask material is robust enough to support the patient's head during molding, eliminating the need for additional head support. This design ensures zero mask shrinkage, providing a consistently comfortable and secure setup for patients.

The latest evolution in this product line is DSPS-Prominent®. This advanced system features a unique cantilevered frame and extends the treatment area to cover the entire head, neck, and shoulder region. DSPS-Prominent® delivers personalized comfort and exceptional treatment accuracy, making it ideal for a wide range of radiotherapy applications.

The cradles are available in models which dock to the most common manufacturers’ head and neck baseplates. Explore the various treatment solutions that the DSPS® system offers below.
